American Printing Center was founded in 1982 by Tommy and Rita Wallace. Shortly after, they sold the business to Rita’s sister, Vera Bahlinger. Vera and Her husband Charlie owned and operated American Printing Center successfully for 27 years. Her love for people and paper combined make American Printing what it is today. Ready for the retirement life, Vera sold her business to Tracey and Bart Zimmerman in 2010. The Zimmermans continue to own and operate American Printing today.
Meet the Team
Bart & Tracey Zimmerman: Tracey and Bart were married in 1992 but it wasn’t until 2005 that they were bit by the entrepreneurial bug and decided to go out on their own and open their own business. Using Bart’s knowledge of the office equipment industry, they opened Imaging Product and Supplies, a full service office equipment company selling and servicing office equipment and proving the supplies that they use. Unfortunately, Imaging’s life was short, as they were located in the Acadian Perkins shopping center and burned down in 2010. American Printing was their silver lining which they purchased just a few months later. Finding a passion for printing and a desire to grow, Bart and Tracey have since purchased Kopy Kats Printing in Gonzales in 2012 and Quave Office Services in Denham Springs in 2015. Bart is a member of Sunrise Rotary and currently is on the Board of Directors for the Sunrise Rotary Foundation, Ascension Chamber of Commerce, founding member of the Premier Chapter of BNI, and a graduate of the Goldman Sacs 10,000 Small Businesses.
Bart is from Zachary and graduated from Zachary High School. After serving 6 years in the Naval Reserves and attending LSU, he began a career in the office equipment business.
Tracey is from Baton Rouge and graduated from Broadmoor High School and Louisiana Tech University. She began her career in State Government. Tracey is a member of American Business Women’s Association, Ascension Chamber of Commerce, The Premier Chapter of BNI, and the 2015 Leadership Ascension Class. The Zimmermans currently live in Baton Rouge with Jalapeño, their ring neck parrot. They enjoy spending time at the beach, dining out with friends, and playing with the newest of their 11 nephews, Thomas.
Lyn Lunsford: Lyn is a familiar face around American Printing. She is our resident expert as she began her career with us in 1989. She has seen a lot of change in the printing industry in her years here. She is our go-to person for all things wedding, social, and etiquette. Lyn is from Baton Rouge and graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy and LSU. She currently resides in St. Gabriel with her husband of almost 40 years, Bob. They have two grown sons, Jesse and Ben, and enjoy spending time traveling, camping, and spoiling their new granddaughter, Layla.

A background in the sign industry, Jeremy has an eye for detail and is efficient and organized like no other. Jeremy is from Traverse City, Michigan where he studied at North Central Michigan College. He has two teenagers, Duran and Sage. Jeremy came to live Baton Rouge just 3 years ago and has studied at BRCC. Hot Off the Press…….Jeremy is already a true Louisianian at heart as he loves LSU football, The Saints, and our warm weather.
Kopy Kats Printing was founded in 1999 by Chris and Cindy Sylvester. Kopy Kats began in Baton Rouge under the name Sylvester’s Kopy Kats but it wasn’t long before it found its place in Gonzales. A few years later, Kopy Kats expanded their services to include office supplies at which time; their name was changed to Sylvester’s Business Center. But, the folks of Gonzales shared their love for the Kopy Kats name so it was quickly changed back. Bart and Tracey Zimmerman purchased the business in 2012 after discovering their passion for printing. They dropped the “Sylvester’s” and added “printing” making it the Kopy Kats Printing that you see today. Many name changes and addresses later, Bart and Tracey purchased a house at 226 South Burnside and converted it to an office. Kopy Kats now has their permanent new home.
Quave Office Services was founded in 1988 by Robert and Kelli Quave. They built the company on a foundation of printer service and customer service which is where it is today. Over the years, Quave has merged with several companies in order to change in an ever changing industry. The company maintained an office in Denham Springs, but being a service focused company, all of their work was done in the customer’s place of business. Bart and Tracey purchased the business in 2015. Printers and toner is Bart’s original love and this brings the businesses full circle. It gives them the opportunity to service all of their customer’s printing needs. Quave is now housed in the Baton Rouge and Gonzales locations but continues to operate in their customer’s place of business. At Quave, we are the toner people!
